The ninth international film festival «Eurasia» will take place in Almaty from 16 to 21 September 2022.

Already for the ninth time «Eurasia» will open its doors for the participants and the audience. The founder of the film festival is the Ministry of Culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The organization and realization of the film festival will be made by JSC Kazakhfilm named after S. Aimanov together with the akimat of Almaty and the Union of cinematographers of Kazakhstan.

This year the members of the selection commission of a festival are the director of IFF «Eurasia» Serik Zhubandykov, the co-director of WCF (WorldCinemaFestival) Vincenzo Bugno, film directors Darezhan Omirbayev and Erlan Nurmukhambetov, and also the art director of a film festival — the film expert, the doctor of art criticism Gulnara Abikeyeva.

Besides the competition program of fiction feature films, within the frame of a festival will take place traditional screenings of the out-of-competition programs containing «Central Asia panorama», «Dynamic Kazakh cinema», kinomost «East» and «West», special screenings and also round tables, master classes and original meetings.

The jury members, the list of the competition program films of a festival, guests of IFF «Eurasia» and other details will be declared later.

The films from the Central Asia countries, the CIS, the European Union and Asia were invited to participate at the IFF «Eurasia» this year . The program of the film festival will include the International competition of fiction feature films of 2020-2021, the Central Asia panorama, the program «The dynamic Kazakh cinema», and also out-of-competition programs «Kinomost West — East: the cinematography of Greece and Turkey», «the echo of the Berlin film festival» and «the echo of the Pusan film festival».

As a result of the high level programs, and also the international standards of the competitive film festivals, together with the international jury, prestigious juries of film critics FIPRESCI and NETPAC also will work at «Eurasia».

One of the important components of the «Eurasia» festival is business part . This year to development the relations between producers and film distributors of the European and Asian countries at the «Eurasia» film festival will take place round tables to discuss the questions of the formation of business platform to develop the coproduction and promotion of new films.
