Korean Cinema Days

Year after year, Eurasia International Film Festival organizers forge relationship between filmmakers from Kazakhstan and other countries. Last year, two non-competition programs dedicated to Russian and Kyrgyz cinema were screened.

This year is no exception. IN the scope of its 10th anniversary, the Festival features the Korean Cinema Days initiated by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).

The KOFIC program goals: raise the Festival guests’ and participants’ awareness of the modern Korean cinema diversity and identify co-production opportunities.

Korea Cinema Days features:

  • Screening of 4 most interesting Korean films made during the past years
  • Master Classes of Korean film directors
  • Signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between the KOFIC and Kazakhfilm Studios.

Background information: KOFIC was established following the Republic of Korea Culture, Sports, and Information Ministry’s initiative to support the Korean film industry and cooperate with film institutions from all around the world. Through KOFIC, Korean filmmakers established close relationship with their colleagues in China, USA, France, Japan, and other countries. KOFIC puts emphasis on student exchange programs (partnering with Korean Arts Academy), master classes and workshops.
